There is a little corner of my yard that I have had a fascination with since we first saw this
home. It’s tucked away behind the house, shaded by dogwoods, magnolia trees, and a
spruce. At one time, it was a tiered garden (I think) lined with pretty stones and blocks that
now give it the feel of a ruin’s forgotten courtyard. It makes me think, with admitted whimsy, of
a place where fairies meet for tea and to gather flowers.
Now I might charitably be described as “not outdoorsy” and what I know about gardening
can be put in a thimble which would, on the face of it, make my newest project seem a little
strange, but hear me out. If the past year has taught me nothing else, it’s that challenges are
opportunities for stretching the boundaries we have set for ourselves. Making the most of a
neglected corner of the yard is my way of pushing those limits!
I can’t wait to share this adventure with you (trust me, that’s not too dramatic; this is WAY
outside my comfort zone!) and I hope you feel inspired and encouraged to take a look around
your home for that space that needs your touch. It could be any place, big or small, that
inspires you to get outdoors and make it your own. Let your whimsy run wild and let’s take this
journey together!
